Respectful language
We use community-focused, non-stigmatizing terms. Areas affected by unhoused communities are described as "unhoused encampment impact areas" or "environmental impact areas", never as "homeless camps."
Trust & moderation
All community-submitted reports appear publicly as Pending Review until a local coordinator approves them. This keeps the map honest while still capturing the full picture of what neighbors are seeing.
